Cause 1:
Washing machine dirty or soiled.
Remedy 1:
? Run a 95 °C wash programme and add descaling agent.
? Make sure that you wash at a temperature of at least 75 °C at least once a month
? Do not use colour-care or liquid detergent over an extended period of time, or add bleach regularly.
Cause 2:
Unfamiliar detergents may produce a different odour.
Cause 3:
Not using any perfumes or fragrances in detergents and the use of soap nuts or mechanical alternatives to detergent may cause the machine or laundry to smell unpleasantly.
Remedy 2/3:
? Try out an alternative detergent to neutralise the odours in your laundry or machine.
Cause 4:
The incorrect amount of detergent was dispensed.
Remedy 4:
? Check the detergent amount dispensed. Dosage amount will depend on the degree of soiling of the laundry, load size and water hardness.
? Use dispensing aids, (e.g. balls) if these are supplied with the detergent, particularly when using liquid detergent.
Cause 5:
The dosage amount set with automatic detergent dispensing is incorrect.
Remedy 5:
? Check the basic dosage amount.
